
Markus Schwai

Markus Schwai is Full Professor of urban design and planning, and since 2010 responsible for the bachelor education in urban design and planning for students in architecture. Also planning and teaching Master courses and workshops for students of architecture, under the umbrella sustainable development, are his tasks.
He was leading a research and teaching cooperation with universities in the Western Balkans, financed by the Norwegian foreign Ministry. The title for this cooperation is ‘Rethinking architecture and energy efficiency in buildings and urban development'(2014-2016). He has been part and running several projects with municipalities and higher education facilities in the Western Balkans and Italy.
He was part and Norwegian leader in the Erasmus+ European strategic partnership “ Collective Evaluation of Design Driven Doctoral Training” CA2RE+(2019-2022), and is still part of the scientific committee and member of the CA2RE network. He is now part of the Erasmus+ capacity building project APLE, with universities from the western Balkan. In spring 2018 og 2019 he was visiting professor at the Sapienza university in Rome and in the academic year 2022/23 at the Mackintosh school of architecture in Glasgow.
