
Alfonso Femia, architect, designer, and urban planner, has been working internationally since 1995. He is the founder and president of Atelier(s) Alfonso Femia, with offices in Genoa, Milan, and Paris.
Among his recent projects are the Vimar headquarters in Marostica, the Dallara Academy in Parma, the new BNL-BNP Paribas headquarters in Rome, the IULM6 University building in Milan, Les Docks in Marseille, The Corner in Milan, Urbagreen in Romainville/Paris, and The Cyberspace in Rennes. Currently under construction are the new “Salerno-Costa d’Amalfi” airport, the redevelopment of the first Italian Mint in Rome, and the cruise terminals of Porto Corsini in Ravenna and La Spezia.
In 2019, he was the director of the 3rd edition of the Pisa International Architecture Biennale and the creator and curator of the 1st and 2nd editions of La Biennale dello Stretto in 2022 and 2024.
He has published numerous essays on architectural themes, is a frequent speaker at international academic conferences, and has received several awards in Italy and France. He has been appointed Ambassador of Italian Design by ADI in Paris, Brussels, Uzbekistan, Jeddah, Miami (USA), and Canada, and in 2025 in Melbourne, Brisbane, and Sydney, Australia.
