Beatrice Moretti is a PhD Architect and Assistant Professor at the Department Architecture and Design (DAD), University of Genoa (Italy) and Adjunct Professor at the Arab American University (AAU), Ramallah Campus (West Bank, Palestine). Her research explores contemporary port cities, port clusters, and their special architectural typology. From 2022 to 2024, she was Principal Investigator of the EU-funded project PULSE – The Port-clUster LandScapE, funded under NextGenerationEU, and she has collaborated as Scientific Advisor for AIVP within the MAGPIE H2020 Smart Green Ports project. 

At DAD, she currently teaches Architectural Design Studio 1, Architectural Theory and the two electives courses Villard and Coastal Design and Other Extreme Environments.

In 2018, she co-founds caarpa, a collective project that combines architecture and landscape; in the same year, she has been Guest Researcher at TU Delft, Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment (The Netherlands). She has been Visiting Critic at the Florida International University of Miami (2022) and, since 2019, has lectured internationally at universities including New York Tech, Temple University, TU Delft, Yeditepe (Istanbul), ETH Zürich, and Chung-Ang (Seoul). 

She is member of the editorial boards of the journals SEASCAPE – International Journal of Architecture, Urbanism and Geomorphology of Coastal Landscapes (Anteferma), ADH | Journal of Architectural Design and History (POLIMI, Unesco Chair, Mantova), and of the ANVUR scientific journals GUD – Genova University Design (Termanini Ed.) and OFFICINA* Scientific Journal of Architecture, Technology and Environment (Anteferma). 

She is the author of several books, including Beyond the Port City (JOVIS, 2020), A Landscape Infra-structure Research (ListLab, 2022, with G. Tucci), and Border Heritage. Coastline Metabolisms. Investigations, Experimentations and Visions between City and Port (Sagep, 2024, with C. Andriani and D. Servente). Her forthcoming book, Landscapes of the Cluster: A Spatial Approach to Ports (JOVIS), is scheduled for publication in autumn 2025.
